Have you read our FAQ?
You might find the answer to your question below:
Where are you located?
We are a law office based in Reno, Nevada; but we help clients throughout the United States and internationally.
How do I communicate with you about my taxes?
We communicate with clients primarily via email and telephone. For clients living abroad or without reliable phone service, we can also communicate via skype audio. Our office is open M-F from 8:00am to 5:00pm PST.
How can I pay for my crypto tax services?
We make it easy to pay for your crypto tax services by accepting all major credit cards, in addition to bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. If you want to pay via cryptocurrency, please email us to request a payment address.
How do I send you my tax documents?
We use a secure client portal called Onvio for exchanging tax documents. Onvio is protected by the same 256-bit encryption you would find on any bank’s website. This is not only more secure than sending documents via email, it’s also much better organized and helps prevent documents from falling through the cracks.
What tax documents do I need to provide?
We need all of your “standard” tax documents, such as W-2s, 1099s, and 1098s, as well as your crypto tax records. We have prepared an in-depth article explaining which documents we need for both your tax return and your crypto calculations.
Who are your tax preparers?
All of our tax preparers are tax attorneys, CPAs, or IRS Enrolled Agents who have extensive and specific experience with cryptocurrency taxation. You can view our entire team to better understand their backgrounds and experience here.
Who will actually prepare my crypto tax return?
You will be assigned a tax preparer (either a tax attorney, CPA, or an IRS Enrolled Agent) upon signing up, and this tax professional will prepare your tax return for you. Tyson Cross supervises all tax return preparation and usually handles most crypto tax calculations personally. Unlike other crypto tax services, we never outsource your tax return to third party preparers. We keep everything in-house to make sure you get the best service possible.
Why choose you for my crypto tax preparation?
When it comes to crypto taxes, experience is critical. As one of the first tax firms to specialize in cryptocurrency taxation, we’ve helped clients with every conceivable crypto tax issue. All of our tax professionals are tax attorneys, CPAs or IRS Enrolled Agents with extensive and specific experience with cryptocurrency taxation. Our tax professionals will work with you to prepare your return and answer any questions you have before, during, and after your return has been prepared. We do our best to make the crypto tax filing process as simple as possible for you. We also believe in honest, transparent, flat-fee pricing. All our prices are listed openly for you to review and understand before you engage with us.
Can I file my crypto tax return myself?
Although you may feel comfortable preparing your tax return under normal circumstances, cryptocurrency taxation is often very complex. There are additional forms and schedules that must be filed, and you may need to report foreign crypto accounts with an FBAR or Form 8938. Mistakes on your crypto taxes can be very time consuming and costly, which is made worse by the fact that the tax laws change constantly. It will take much longer to prepare your tax return if you need to learn about the additional forms and schedules, find tax software that can accommodate your needs, enter all the data, and check the return. At the end, you still are not guaranteed a correct tax return.
